Job summary

Safeway in Canada is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our community-focused team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The role focuses on precise prescription assembly, data entry, and serving customers with care and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include handling refills, promoting Profile programs, compounding, pill pack assembly, and maintaining stock as part of daily pharmacy operations. Prior pharmacy experience is an asset; a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.).
• BTC management.
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TMLs, manual third parties.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.
