Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join DrugSmart Pharmacy Queens in Kingston, Ontario. This position is ideal for students and supports pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will greet customers, assist with prescriptions, enter and label medications, help with inventory, and perform clerical tasks while keeping a clean, compliant workspace. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care

• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Schedule
