Job summary

Port Perry Remedy's Rx, part of Neighbourly Pharmacy Inc., is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Assistant in Port Perry, Ontario. You will assist pharmacists and technicians to deliver high-quality patient care and handle prescriptions under supervision.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years’ retail pharmacy experience, is proficient with Kroll, and demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills. Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in retail pharmacy.
• Proficiency with Kroll and accurate prescription data entry.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in patient care.
• Greet customers and answer phone calls professionally.
• Enter, label, and package prescriptions under supervision.
• Count, measure, and package medications accurately.
• Receive, stock, and audit inventory; rotate stock.
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and dispose of waste per regs.
• Perform clerical tasks like filing, faxing, scanning, and assisting with insurance claims and transfers.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Port Perry Remedy's Rx is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Port Perry, Ontario.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy witha preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
• Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is required
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

• 20 hours per week (Part-time)
• The store operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Candidates must be available to work a variety of shifts, including daytime, opening, closing, and weekend shifts, based on operational needs.
