Job summary

Royal Drug Mart in Melville, Saskatchewan is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. This role supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering high-quality patient care.

You will support with entering, labeling and packaging prescriptions under supervision, count medications, stock inventory, and handle clerical tasks. Flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays is required to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–3 years experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting.
  • Strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry using Kroll.
  • Solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to thrive in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and transfers.
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Royal Drug Mart is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Melville, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule
  • 40 hours per week (Full‑time)
  • The store operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Candidates must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts, including opening and closing shifts, as well as weekends, to support business needs.
