Qualifications

  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is an asset; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.

Responsibilities

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for aPart-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at DrugSmart Pharmacy @Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.

This is a 2-month term position.

The listed compensation is a starting pointand will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities :

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
