Job summary

West Tecumseh Pharmacy in Windsor, Ontario, part of Neighbourly Pharmacy, is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, greet customers, and help with dispensing and inventory. This role emphasizes patient-focused care and teamwork in a busy community setting.

The ideal candidate will have pharmacy assistant training or experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy is an asset; on-the-job training provided.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll software.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner

• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
