Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking Part-Time Pharmacy Assistants to join our Rx Drug Mart in Wingham, Ontario. The role focuses on patient-focused care, accurate packaging, and efficient pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities include blister packs, prescription processing, inventory control, and courteous service in person and by phone. Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support our community.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training will be provided).
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Blister Packs & Compliance Packaging: Filling and sealing multi-dose blister packs accurately.
• Prescription Processing: Entering patient, insurance, and doctor data into pharmacy software.
• Dispensing Support: Counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling under pharmacist supervision.
• Inventory Control: Checking stock, ordering supplies, and removing expired products.
• POS & Billing: Operating cash registers and processing third-party insurance claims.
• Attention to Detail: Double-checking work to ensure zero medication errors.
• Focus & Concentration: Maintaining accuracy during repetitive packaging tasks.
• Customer Service: Assisting patients warmly and professionally in person and by phone.
• Time Management: Multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork: Working seamlessly with pharmacists and technicians to meet deadlines.
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

There are two shifts available:

• Shift 1: Monday-Friday 10:00 AM-3:00 PM
• Shift 2: Monday 3:00 PM–8:00 PM, Thursday & Friday 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
