Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Ottawa, ON is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists and technicians, assist with entering, labeling and packaging prescriptions, and greet customers with professional service.

You will help with inventory, clerical tasks, and daily operations in a friendly team environment. The schedule is 16–21 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with training provided and a path to growth within Canada's largest network of community pharmacies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software (training will be provided).
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

• Store hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
