Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy in Lloydminster, Alberta, is seeking a Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join Family Pharmacy on 46th. You will support pharmacists, handle prescriptions, and assist with daily operations while delivering patient-focused care.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and customer service, with on-site work and flexible hours Monday to Friday. Prior pharmacy exposure is a plus, with on-the-job training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
• Previous experience within a pharmacy is an asset (on-the-job training will be provided).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software.
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers.
• Willingness to work flexible hours Monday-Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
