Job summary

VON Canada in Ontario is hiring a Personal Support Worker (PSW) to deliver person-centred home care to clients in their own homes. You will support daily living, assist with personal care, mobility, and meal preparation, and help clients stay independent and comfortable.

You will travel between client homes, contribute to care plans, and collaborate with healthcare teams. A PSW or Developmental Services Worker certification is required, along with a valid First Aid/CPR, driver's license and

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in their own homes.

About the role

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you'll use your training to provide person-centred care, support daily living, and help clients stay comfortable and independent in their own homes. What you'll do

What we are looking for

• Personal Support Worker or Developmental Services Worker certification
• Nursing students who have completed first year of RPN or BScN or internationally educated nurses are eligible to apply
• Must have a current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate, if applicable to the work being performed
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Working conditions and physical demands

This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
