Job summary

S&R Group of Companies is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) for a casual, part-time role in our Long Term Care setting. You will provide compassionate care in residents' homes, assist with daily living activities, transfers, and mobility, and work with the care team to ensure safety and dignity.

We offer a thorough orientation, ongoing opportunities to grow skills, and involvement in specialized programs.

Qualifications

• Certification as PSW or HCA.
• VSS check completed within past 6 months.
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including safe lifts/transfers, bathing and feeding.
• Collaborate with RPNs and care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Complete POC tasks and keep resident information accurate and up to date.
• Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and team huddles to plan and improve resident care.
• Support residents with mobility, personal care, and nutrition and notice changes that matter.
• Create meaningful moments by connecting with residents and celebrating milestones.

• Worked side-by-side with RPNs and your care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Completed POC tasks, ensuring resident information is accurate and up to date.
• Actively participated in shift reports, care conferences, and team huddles, contributing to planning and improving resident care.
• Supported residents with mobility, personal care, and nutrition while noticing changes that matter.
• Created meaningful moments by connecting with residents, celebrating milestones, and making them feel valued.
• Participated in specialized programs or roles such as Behavioural Supports, Rehab or Quality Improvement, contributing to advanced care initiatives.
• Mentored new team members through structured programs, sharing experience and strengthening the care culture.

To be hired into this role, you must have:

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year
