VON Canada is hiring Personal Support Workers to provide person-centred care in clients’ homes, supporting daily living and independence. You will travel between clients’ homes, contributing to care plans and delivering essential support in a community setting.

Requirements include PSW/DSW certification, First Aid/CPR, a valid driver’s license and vehicle, and a satisfactory criminal records check. This casual, home-care role offers development and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• PSW or DSW certification is required.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients in their homes.
• Help develop the client care plan.
• Assist with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing.
• Assist with mobility and transfers for safety.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals; light housekeeping.
• Offer respite care to families.
• Monitor and maintain a safe home environment.

About the role:

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you'll use your training to provide person-centred care, support daily living, and help clients stay comfortable and independent in their own homes. What you'll do:

What we are looking for:

• Personal Support Worker or Developmental Services Worker certification
• Nursing students who have completed first year of RPN or BScN or internationally educated nurses are eligible to apply
• Must have a current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate, if applicable to the work being performed
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
