Job summary

March of Dimes Canada is seeking a Permanent Part Time Personal Support Worker (Support Services Attendant) to provide non-medical personal care in the Halton Outreach program, covering Burlington, Georgetown, Milton and surrounding areas. The wage is $19.24 per hour with up to 20 hours per week.

Shifts available 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm, including evenings and weekends. Applicants should have First Aid/CPR and a valid G-class license, and must have a reliable vehicle with insurance in their own

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience working with people with physical disabilities, knowledge of Independent Living or consumer-based care.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living.
• Performs personal care, transfers, rising/retiring, and bowel/bladder routines.
• Meal preparation and feeding; range of motion exercises.
• Light housekeeping duties.
• Maintain dignity, privacy, and health and safety for consumers and staff.
• Applicants should be comfortable working in homes with cats and dogs.

We are currently looking to fill a Permanent Part Time Personal Support Worker (Known internally as Support Services Attendant) role in our Halton Outreach program to provide non-medical personal care to adults (Covering Burlington, Georgetown, Milton and surrounding areas).

Wage: $19.24 per hour

Hours: up to 20 per week

Schedule: Available shifts are 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm. Includes evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:
  • Personal care
  • Lifts and Transfers
  • Rising/retiring
  • Bowel and bladder procedures
  • Meal preparation and feeding
  • Range of motion exercises
  • Other light housekeeping duties
• Performs duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.
• Applicants should be okay working in homes with cats and dogs.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience working with people with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Consumer based care.
• Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties

• Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
• Must have 'G' class license.
• MUST have reliable vehicle and valid insurance in your own name.
