Job summary

Covenant House Toronto is seeking a People Operations Generalist to support HR systems, payroll, benefits and compliance. The role collaborates with finance, operations and youth-facing staff to ensure data integrity and efficient processes.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, administering benefits, payroll audits, KPI tracking, and system improvements. A CHRP/CHRL is an asset; 3–5+ years HR ops experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• CHRP/CHRL designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
• 3–5+ years of HR experience, with a focus on HR operations, payroll, or HRIS.
• Experience supporting compliance and audits in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee records including contracts, job changes, and employment documentation.
• Administer benefits enrollment and changes for Group Health and RRSP.
• Ensure all personnel files are complete and audit-ready.
• Track KPIs and provide input and recommendations on improvements.
• Work closely with payroll to ensure changes and systems efficiencies are up to date.
• Conduct audits related to payroll and benefits administration.
• Meet with employees to discuss enrolment options and education.
• Coordinate benefits education sessions and monitor quarterly reporting.
• Case management of leaves (STD, LTD, Parental, ESA).
• Handle year-end processes including vacation, merit increases and entitlement allocations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance.
• Maintain HR documentation and records per legal requirements.
• Maintain Policy and Procedure Manual with updated legislation changes and staff education.
• Maintain HRIS systems and ensure data integrity.
• Generate reports and analytics to support leadership decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements within HR systems.
• Support training initiatives of systems and benefits.
