Job summary

Sojourn House in Toronto is seeking a People Services Associate on an 18-month full-time contract to deliver HR services across the organization, supporting managers, employees and volunteers within an anti-oppression framework.

You will handle recruitment and onboarding, HRIS administration (BambooHR), leaves and attendance, performance management, reporting and special projects, contributing to a positive employee experience across locations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role.
• Minimum 1 year of full-cycle, high-volume recruitment.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation.
• Experience with BambooHR is an asset.
• Experience with HRIS platforms and reporting.
• Experience in a unionized environment; labour relations at the Step 1 level is an asset.
• Commitment to anti-racism, access and equity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities.
• Support HRIS administration and employee records (BambooHR).
• Support employee engagement initiatives and team-building.
• Assist with employee leaves, including pregnancy and parental leaves, and WSIB claims.
• Assist managers with annual performance reviews.
• Prepare HR reports and analyze attendance, retention and exit trends.
• Contribute to HR projects, processes and SOPs.
• Support the Volunteer Management Program.
• Help deliver departmental objectives aligned with the organizational strategic plan.
