Job summary

Medavie is seeking a Team Lead, Payroll to guide our payroll operations across multiple operating companies from our Dartmouth office. You will lead a team of Payroll Administrators, ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely pay, and partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, Pension, HRIS, and Operations.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with opportunities to drive process improvements, support Workday enhancements, and contribute to audits and year-end activities.

Qualifications

• PCP designation required.
• 5-7 years of progressive payroll experience.
• 1-3 years in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role.
• Experience processing complex payrolls in a multi-company environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, reconciliations, and audits.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate payroll processing activities across multiple companies
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Payroll Administrators
• Manage complex payroll issues, exceptions, and retroactive calculations
• Review payroll reconciliations and ensure legislative compliance
• Support year-end payroll activities, reporting, and audits
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies
• Support Workday enhancements, payroll projects, and testing activities
