Job summary

Mayfair Diagnostics is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Manager to lead day-to-day accounting and payroll operations for a growing healthcare organization in Calgary. You will shape financial processes, controls, reporting, and system enhancements while partnering with leadership.

The role requires a CPA, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, and 3+ years in a leadership capacity. Hybrid work arrangements and a strong focus on process improvement are offered.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle responsibilities.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing accounting and/or payroll teams.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, reconciliations, and management accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close across multiple entities.
• Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, vendor payments, and reporting.
• Review complex accounting transactions for accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen controls, workflows, and reporting.
• Ensure GST/PST remittances and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee contractor payments, revenue allocations, and partner reconciliations.
• Oversee bi-weekly payroll operations through Ceridian Dayforce.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with federal & provincial law.
• Partner with HR and leadership on payroll reporting and policy updates.
• Mentor and develop accounting and payroll teams.
• Build strong cross-department relationships as trusted finance partner.
