The Nova Scotia Provincial Housing Agency in Halifax is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support the biweekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance with collective agreements, and timely payments.

Under the Payroll Supervisor, you will collect and verify payroll data, maintain employee life cycle records in SAP HR/Payroll, and communicate pay-related information clearly while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field is required.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
• A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is essential.
• Ability to perform under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll in SAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain data related to appointments, transfers, leaves, promotions, terminations, and time entry.
• Ensure entitlements and premiums align with policy and agreements.
• Apply collective agreements, regulations, and labour standards.
• Communicate with employees on payroll and benefit matters.
• Enrol/terminate employees in benefit and pension plans.
• Identify and escalate payroll risks to the Supervisor or Specialist.
