Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a PayrollAdministrator to join our team at our corporate head office in Winnipeg.

What YouWill Do:

  • Prepare and distribute biweekly payroll for allemployees
  • Maintain and update employee information, such asemployee files, records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculatepay and benefit entitlements in Canadian currency
  • Prepare and update various payroll-relatedspreadsheets (tracking education assistance programs, boot allowances, vacationtime, etc.).
  • Prepare monthlyspreadsheets for the accounting department (accrual journals)
  • Respond to employeeand branch inquiries as required
  • Assist with groupinsurance benefits and reconcile monthly billing
  • Assist with theadministration of FGI’s short-term disability program
  • Calculation of cartaxable benefits
  • Distribute T4’s
  • Otherduties as assigned

What We Require:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation required. PCP candidate with extensive experience may be considered
  • Experience withPayworks payroll program preferred.
  • 3-5+ years experiencewith payroll on a computerized system preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills –dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with theability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic to proficientknowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learnin-house systems.
  • Post secondaryeducation in payroll or accounting an asset
  • Knowledge ofgeneral accounting principles, payroll procedures and employments standards areassets.
  • Heavy duty partsknowledge or background an asset
