Halton Healthcare is seeking an attentive Registration Clerk to join the MD Registration team in Milton on a temporary part-time basis. You will register patients in Meditech, verify coverage, and securely enter essential data for billing and records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar clerical capacity in a health care environment or Medical Office Administration diploma.
• Successful completion of a medical terminology course is required.
• Advanced keyboarding and extremely accurate data entry skills required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Word is an asset.
• Accurate spelling is required.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and to prioritize work.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to respond diplomatically to physicians, staff and family inquiries in a demanding work environment.
• Must be able to meet physical demands of sitting, standing and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Register patients using Meditech software and validate healthcare coverage.
• Acquire required information and payment method for uninsured patients and enter data.
• Create and close treatment records and handle inquiries from public, family and hospital staff.
• Admit patients following established protocols and coordinate bed allocation with nursing staff.
• Provide overnight break coverage to maintain front-line registration and clerical services.
• Other related duties as required.
