Job summary

An Edmonton client is seeking an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to lead their parts and shipping team, oversee inventory processes, drive sales growth, and deliver exceptional customer service.

The role will manage back-counter operations, collaborate with the Inventory Manager, and support municipal and heavy equipment customers across Western Canada. Travel may be required. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in parts department operations; 8 years preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Municipal and heavy equipment experience is an asset.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse practices.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Journeyman Parts Certificate preferred; relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead parts and shipping team; oversee back-counter operations.

  • Drive sales growth by maintaining client relationships and supporting promotions.
  • Assist customers with parts inquiries and orders via email, phone, and counter sales.
  • Coordinate with Service Manager and team to support operations.
  • Oversee timely and accurate parts fulfillment for municipal and heavy equipment.
  • Manage multiple product lines and serve Western Canada.
  • Use inventory management systems and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Handle administrative duties including paperwork, order processing, and reporting.
  • Occasionally travel using a company vehicle to visit customers or pick up parts.

Parts Manager Highlights:

  • Collaborate with the Inventory Manager to maintain inventory accuracy and improve workflow processes.
  • Drive sales growth by maintaining client relationships and supporting promotional initiatives.
  • Assist customers with parts inquiries and orders through email, telephone, and counter sales.
  • Coordinate with the Service Manager, mechanics, service coordinators, and other service personnel to support efficient operations.
  • Oversee timely and accurate parts fulfillment for municipal and heavy equipment.
  • Manage and support multiple product lines while serving customers across Western Canada.
  • Use inventory management systems and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Handle administrative duties, including paperwork, order processing, and reporting.
  • Occasionally travel using a company vehicle to visit customers or pick up parts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in parts department operations; 8 years preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of management or supervisory experience. Other leadership experience may be considered.
  • Municipal and heavy equipment experience is an asset.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical parts, parts catalogs, distributors, and dealers.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse practices.
  • Proficiency with computers and programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and administrative skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and a collaborative team culture.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence and a clean driving record.
  • Journeyman Parts Certificate preferred; relevant experience may be considered.

Hours & Wage:

  • Salary: $72,000-$85,000 per year
  • Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
