Job summary

Kongsberg Discovery Canada Ltd. is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to operate in a fast-paced environment on a part-time basis (20-24 hours/week) for an initial 6-month term with the potential to extend.

You’ll partner with leaders, support the employee lifecycle from onboarding to coaching, and help shape a high-performing workplace. The role combines strategic advisory with hands-on HR operations, including payroll, benefits, leaves, and policy interpretation under Canadian employment laws.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR / People Business Partner experience.
• Influencing without authority and communicating clearly with executives, managers, and employees.
• Experience across core HR domains: performance management, talent development, compensation, employee relations, payroll and compliance.
• Ability to navigate both hands-on execution and strategic ownership.
• Strong decision-making and knowledge of employee relations, people management and training.
• Experience building processes, policies and workflows for leaders on employee relations, recruitment and team development.
• Experience rebuilding or elevating performance management frameworks and coaching.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience administering payroll, benefits, disability programs, leaves of absence, ROEs, WCB
• A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience or a certification in change management / project management.

Responsibilities

• Strategic advisory with leaders to build high-performing teams and coach executives.
• HR operations: rebuild and maintain core workflows, policies, and performance management frameworks.
• Employee relations and culture advocacy on the workshop floor to build trust.
• Core HR administration: payroll processing, benefits administration, leaves, ROEs, WCB, and compliance with Canadian laws.
