Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for Summit Place Retirement in Owen Sound, Ontario. This part-time daytime position involves delivering nursing care to residents, following physicians' orders, and updating care plans.

The successful candidate will monitor residents’ health, document changes, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal applicants hold an Ontario RPN certificate, registration, and prior long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from an approved Ontario college or school
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
• Experience in long-term care or community homecare preferred
• Experience with cognitively impaired residents preferred
• Knowledge of infection control practices and nursing standards

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per established standards and physicians' orders
• Assess residents, develop and revise care plans
• Monitor health, document vital signs and changes in condition
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and the care team
