Job summary

Extendicare Inc. in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Part-time Registered Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will monitor residents' conditions, administer treatments per physician orders, maintain infection control standards, and mentor junior staff while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and infection control practices.
• Effective human relation skills and commitment to seniors.
• Effective communication and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resident care is provided with nursing standards, observe and record vital signs, and report changes.
• Assess residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans.
• Organize and direct care-related activities including restorative and palliative care as required.
• Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing and personal care staff; orient and train new personnel; participate in education.
