Job summary

Southlake Health seeks a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for Medicine in Newmarket, Ontario. This part-time, permanent role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, care planning, and supporting new staff. A current RPN registration and BLS are required, with experience in acute medicine preferred.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• RPN Certificate of Registration, in good standing, from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient- and family-focused care within the RPN scope of practice.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and healthcare team.
• Collaborates with RNs to provide care for patients with complex health issues.
• Participates in assessment and documentation of patient health status.
• Contributes to the Plan of Care and its ongoing evaluation.
• Assists in orientation of new staff and students.
