Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a permanent part-time role. You will provide patient-centered care within the RPN scope, collaborate with the healthcare team, and uphold CNO standards while supporting ongoing learning and safety.

This hybrid environment offers a mix of in-person, virtual, and flexible scheduling, with a competitive hourly rate of CAD 38.39–39.02.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN) in good standing.
• Ability to set priorities and organize work based on patient needs.
• Ability to practice to full scope of nursing as per CNO.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and quality improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient- and family-focused care within the RPN scope.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes.
• Ensure practice aligns with entry-to-practice competencies and standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with RNs to care for patients with complex health issues.
• Offer consultation and clinical support to peers as needed.
• Contribute to health status assessments and documentation.
• Assist in Plan of Care development and evaluation.
• Support orientation and preceptorship of new staff.
