Job summary

William Osler Health System in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the General Medicine unit. This part-time, temporary position supports the Acute General Medicine program, with 8/12 hour days and nights, across Osler sites as needed.

You will provide patient-centered care, perform nursing processes, and adhere to College of Nurses of Ontario standards; BCLS required; experience in geriatric and complex care preferred; strong teamwork and communication essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse with current Ontario license
• BCLS certification
• Minimum two years recent acute general medicine nursing experience, geriatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
• Professional, patient-centered care to ensure patient safety
• Providing care in a compassionate and caring manner within a diverse cultural environment
• Practicing according to infection control and prevention measures
• Responding to emergencies by recognizing changes and consulting appropriately
• Providing health teaching to patients and families including discharge instructions
