Southlake Health is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team in Newmarket, ON. The role emphasizes clinical excellence, patient- and family-centered care, and collaboration with RNs to manage complex health issues.

Qualifications

• RPN diploma from a recognized school of nursing.
• Current BLS certification required.
• RPN Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Completed the RPN Operating Room Course.
• Two years current Operating Room experience preferred.
• Ability to set priorities and organize work per patient needs.
• Ability to practice to the full scope of nursing as per the CNO.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and quality improvement.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
• Commitment to patient-and-family-centered care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient and family-focused care within the RPN scope of practice according to hospital policies.
• Ensures practice aligns with entry-to-practice competencies and standards.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Collaborates with RNs to care for patients with complex health issues.
• Provides consultation and clinical support to peers as needed.
• Contributes to assessment and documentation of patient health status.
• Assists in the Plan of Care development and evaluation.
• Assists orientation/preceptorship of new staff and students.
• Models safe, evidence-based practice to deliver exemplary care.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
