Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Part-time Personal Support Worker at Summit Place, Owen Sound. The PSW/HCA/CCA will provide direct personal support to residents, assisting with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming in accordance with care plans and routines.

Qualifications include a PSW certification, experience in LTC or community home care, and strong English communication. The role requires independent work, and a reliable vehicle is preferred for community visits.

Qualifications

• Completed PSW certification meeting standards for the role.
• Experience in long-term care or community home care with dementia/palliative care.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation.
• Positive communication with staff, residents/families.
• Ability to read/write English and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
• Support residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Follow policies, procedures, and care plans.
• Document care and communicate care updates with the team.
