Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal care to residents in long-term care and community home care settings. You will assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming, and support residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

The role requires completion of a PSW program or HCA/CCA certification, plus English reading/writing ability and effective communication with staff, residents, and families.

Qualifications

• PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification to appropriate standards.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care with dementia/palliative care preferred.
• Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to read/write English and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal support and care including ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
• Assist in fulfilling physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs per policies.
• Ensure care aligns with nursing care plans and applicable legislation.
