Job summary

Extendicare is hiring Personal Support Workers (PSW), Home Care Aide (HCA) or Community Care Assistant (CCA) to provide direct personal care to residents in our long-term care homes across Canada. You will assist with mobility, bathing, grooming and daily activities, following care plans and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification meeting standards for the position.
• Experience in long-term care or community home care with dementia & palliative care exposure preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to provide care according to legislation, routines, and nursing care plans; read/write English and understand English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
• Assist residents with daily activities in accordance with care plans and procedures.
