Job summary

Extendicare in Canada is seeking a compassionate part-time Personal Support Worker to provide hands-on care to residents in accordance with their care plans, including bathing, grooming, meal assistance, and safe transfers.

You will work closely with the care team to monitor residents’ well-being, report changes to supervisors promptly, and uphold our commitment to a respectful, inclusive environment. Competitive compensation and a comprehensive total rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

• HSW Certificate and experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Interpersonal skills developed through daily living caregiving and household management.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care per care plan (bathing, grooming).
• Make beds, assist with toilets, and wound/ dressing changes.
• Use proper body mechanics for safe lifts and transfers.
• Prepare nutritious meals, including special diets per plan.
• Provide cognitive, social and emotional support.
• Aid with adaptive devices like hearing aids, glasses, dentures.
• Assist with household tasks (cleaning, laundry, cooking).
• Observe and report changes to supervisor promptly.
