Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Part-time PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal support and care in our Canadian long-term care setting. The role involves assisting residents with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming, while upholding care plans and resident dignity.

Applicants should have a PSW program completion or HCA/CCA certification, experience in long-term care or community home care, and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal support and care such as ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming.
• Assist residents in activities of daily living and maintain safety and comfort.
