Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Part-time PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal support to residents in our long-term care setting. You will assist with activities of daily living and follow care plans.

Qualifications include PSW certification, experience in long-term care or community home care, ability to work independently, strong communication in English, and familiarity with care planning systems. The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position.
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation.
• Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families.
• Ability to read/write English and understand verbal/written instructions in English.
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal support and care to residents according to policies and care plans.
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming and daily activities as required.
