Job summary

Save-On-Foods Meadows in Edmonton, AB is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to support patient-centred care and healthy living in the community. You will process prescriptions, manage stock, and communicate with the pharmacist to ensure accurate billing and patient safety.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and excellent customer service, with benefits and pension eligibility as part of the team package.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive written prescriptions and refill requests (written or verbal).
• Input all patient and prescription data into the computer.
• Order, receive, and manage stock; check expiry dates and adjust inventory.
• Adhere to merchandising programs, procedures and policies.
• Communicate allergy interactions and billing information to the pharmacist.
• Kroll computer experience is an asset.

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving written prescriptions and written or verbal refill requests.
• Inputting all patient and prescription information into the computer.
• Performing all tasks related to ordering, receiving, and returning stock, expiry date checks, balance owing and inventory corrections.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Communicating allergy interaction and relevant billing information to the pharmacist.
• Kroll computer experience is an asset.

You have:

• Completed an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• A strong work ethic and "let's get it done" attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
