Job summary

Save-On-Foods Pharmacy in Port Alberni, BC, part of Pattison Food Group, is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to help deliver patient-centred care in the community.

You will input prescriptions, manage stock, and coordinate with the pharmacist to ensure accurate billing and safety. The role offers training, benefits, and opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.

Responsibilities

• Receiving prescriptions and refill requests written or verbal.
• Inputting patient and prescription information into the computer.
• Handling stock: ordering, receiving, returns, expiry checks and inventory corrections.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, procedures, and company policies.
• Communicating allergy interactions and billing information to the pharmacist.

You will be responsible for:

• Receiving written prescriptions and written or verbal refill requests.
• Inputting all patient and prescription information into the computer.
• Performing all tasks related to ordering, receiving, and returning stock, expiry date checks, balance owing and inventory corrections.
• Adhering to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Communicating allergy interaction and relevant billing information to the pharmacist.

You have:

• Completed an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program or have 2 years dispensary experience.
• A strong work ethic and “let’s get it done” attitude.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Kroll computer experience is an asset.

Compensation Details: $19.00 - $23.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
