Job summary

Oxford Learning Centres Inc. is hiring part-time teacher-tutors for the 2026-2027 school year in Toronto. The role involves teaching Elementary and high-school students in subjects including reading, writing, math, and science. All lesson plans are pre-planned, and training will be provided.

Job description

Position Overview

Oxford Learning Bayview Woods is hiring part‑time teacher‑tutors for the 2026‑2027 school year to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math, French, and high‑school students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English.

All lesson plans are pre‑planned. You will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three students at a time (up to two at a time for grades 9–12).
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, creating a fun learning environment.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Third‑year university students with tutoring experience will be considered.
• Working toward or having a teaching certification is an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.

Experience

• Some experience teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to teach French is also highly desired.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Position Requirements

• Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm).
• Commitment through the end of the 2026‑27 school year (June 30) with the possibility of continuing through the summer.
• This role is in‑person; remote positions are not available.
• Must be able to commute to this location; relocation packages are not available.
• Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
• Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the North York area.

Compensation & Schedule

Job Type: Part‑time

Salary: $20 – $22 per hour

Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Friday, Saturday availability.
