Part‑Time Elementary Teacher / Tutor
Overview
We are seeking a passionate, part‑time elementary teacher/tutor to join our Oxford Learning community in Richmond Hill, Ontario. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with students across language arts, social studies, and mathematics, and who are eager to help young learners succeed in all subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach up to three students at a time in an interactive coaching format.
- Deliver lessons using pre‑planned materials based on Oxford Learning methodologies.
- Conduct sessions both in‑person and online (where applicable).
- Complete post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the K‑8 curriculum.
- Experience teaching or tutoring K‑9 (or equivalent) students.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously.
- Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
Preferred Experience
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience.
- Some experience in a role that requires lesson planning.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part‑time position (Afternoon/ evening). Scheduled shifts: Monday/Wednesday 4:00‑8:00 pm or Tuesday/Thursday 4:00‑8:00 pm or Wednesday 4:00‑8:00 pm & Saturday 10:00‑2:00 pm.
- Full commitment to the academic year (summer session optional).
- Hourly rate: $19 – $21 (hour).
Location & Logistics
Oxford Learning Richmond Hill Elgin Mills – 209A‑10720 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON. This is an in‑person role; applicants must be able to commute to the location within a short distance. Relocation packages are not available.
