Job summary

Oxford Learning Forest Hill in Toronto is seeking a part‑time Tutor for elementary and high school to work after school and in the evening, teaching up to three students at a time, in‑person and some Saturdays as needed. You will follow Oxford Learning methodologies and complete daily notes and updates.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or be a fourth‑year student with tutoring experience; teaching certification is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth year university students with tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum; Oxford Learning uses its own curriculum.

Part‑Time Tutor – Elementary & High School

Oxford Learning Forest Hill

Toronto, Ontario

Employment Type: Part Time

Pay: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after‑school and evening hours (3:30/4:00pm – 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (9:00am – 1:30pm). A commitment for the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. No relocation package is offered.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum, however Oxford Learning students complete our own curriculum
• High school math and science an asset.

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
