Job summary

Irving Tissue is seeking a co-op student for a four-month term to work with Operations and Engineering on design, process improvement and optimization projects. You will participate in data gathering, investigation and analysis, and contribute to site initiatives on safety, quality, production, maintenance and continuous improvement.

Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering, or related field, you will gain hands-on experience and opportunities to grow within the J.D.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering, or related fields
• Availability for a 4-month co-op term is required
• Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is considered an asset
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful projects in design, process improvement, and optimization
• Participate in team problem solving exercises by performing data gathering, investigation, and analysis
• Work with Operations and Engineering Departments to implement and improve systems and processes
• Contribute to site initiatives on Safety, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement
• Follow Site Safe Practices at all times
