Job summary

Irving Tissue in Dieppe is seeking an Operations Technology Specialist to support production networks and OT systems. You will ensure cyber-safe, up-to-date, and compliant operations across Dieppe and related sites. The role includes handling OT data systems and coordinating with IT for cyber events.

The job involves equipment like PLCs and FactoryTalk, plus creating maintenance plans and documentation to sustain peak plant performance. A background in networking or cyber security is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in networking, cyber security or equivalent preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in the electrical field in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Experience in programming, instrumentation, and/or electronics is an asset.
• Familiarity with Rockwell Products such as Factory Talk servers, PLCs, switches, etc. is an asset.
• Previous PLC experience, including installation and troubleshooting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT support for new product and technology introductions to the plant and for upgrades of OT systems.
• Onsite liaison with JDI IT for Operations Technology cyber events.
• Troubleshoot production Operations Technology disturbances as they occur.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to improve efficiency of OT controls.
• Promote preventive and predictive maintenance for OT network and switches.
• Keep OT network and system documentation up-to-date, accessible, and backed up.
• Create Preventive Maintenance plans in the CMMS for network performance and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Directly reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with responsibility to the Corporate Manager of Operations Technology Systems, the Operations Technology Specialist will support operational process networks and systems for the Irving Tissue Dieppe and Irving Personal Care sites.

The position is responsible for ensuring the operational networks and systems are up-to-date, cyber-safe, stable, and compliant. In addition, responsibilities will include operational data systems (such as PI, PARCview, etc.) per the site requirements.

• Provide support for new product and technology introductions to the plant as well as for upgrades of OT Systems.
• Onsite liaison with JDI IT for any Operations Techology cyber events.
• Troubleshoot any production Operations Technology disturbances that may occur.
• Provide support for new product and technology introductions to the plant as well as for upgrades of Operations Technology Systems.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing Operations Technology controls.
• Promote preventive and predictive maintenance program for PLCs, OT network and switches.
• Responsible to keep all documentation related to the OT network and systems up-to-date, accessible, and backed up.
• Create Preventive Maintenance plans in the CMMS for network performance and monitoring to achieve a successful program to ensure optimum performance.
