Summary of Responsibilities:
To be successful in this role at Wilcox, you will provide technical expertise on Wilcox Bodies product, work within deadlines, and have exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills. This role is committed to promoting the Wilcox Bodies product range using proven sales strategies. You’ll be responsible for building positive relationships with customers by generating accurate quotations and sales orders. You’ll work closely with our Design Team to provide excellent solutions for customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Close and grow sales through professional communication with existing and potential customers.
- Identify and resolve customer concerns; recommend actions to prevent future issues.
- Prepare quotes to secure new and existing business opportunities.
- Meet with customers to confirm their needs and preferences, explaining products and services offered by the Company.
- Initiate the design of customized truck solutions when suitable.
- Determine the best products to meet customer requirements, communicating Wilcox standard equipment and remaining flexible on custom options.
- Liaise with Design on customer requirements and updates of ongoing reviews of Bill of Materials.
- Maintain awareness of customer information, future opportunities, plans, and payment performance; communicate relevant details to appropriate departments.
- Demonstrate and explain manufacturing techniques for Wilcox Bodies.
- Travel to meet customers and support the sales team as needed.
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of the commercial truck body industry.
- Ability to understand, identify, and articulate specific value propositions relative to competitors.
- Foster strong customer relationships with credibility and trust through technical knowledge, meeting commitments, and a friendly demeanor.

Work Experience and Knowledge:
- Preferred: Technical sales background.
- Preferred: Manufacturing or design-based sales experience.
- Minimum: 3+ years of professional sales experience.
- Strong presentation skills and professional appearance.
- Effective listening and communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Yellow or Black belt and/or Six Sigma training/designation is an asset.
Physical Demands and Conditions:
- Wear PPE at manufacturing facilities.
- Exposure to noise, temperature, adverse weather, and outdoor work.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Valid Passport and ability to travel within North America.
- Occasional work outside normal hours may be required.
