Job summary

Our client, an Ottawa-based general contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering industrial, commercial, recreational, and retail construction projects across Canada, is seeking a Project Coordinator. You will support planning, coordination, documentation, and execution of light industrial and large-format retail projects, reporting to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of construction experience in a coordinating role.
Experience supporting light industrial or large retail projects.
Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specs, contracts, and administration.
Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders and document control.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in planning and delivering projects.
Maintain project documentation: contracts, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, minutes.
Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Support procurement by obtaining quotes, issuing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries.
Monitor project costs and change management processes.
Assist with project reporting, forecasting, and progress updates.
Coordinate permit applications, inspections, occupancy, and closeouts.
Ensure documentation is maintained in project management systems.
Support health and safety standards and procedures.
Participate in site meetings and progress reviews.
Assist with turnover, deficiency management and warranty administration.
