Job summary

Gray Collection is seeking an HR Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support for the Ottawa hotel and restaurant operations, reporting to the HR Director, Corporate. The role helps align HR strategies with operational needs and collaborates with the Hotel General Manager through a dotted-line relationship.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 2–4 years of generalist HR experience, preferably in hospitality, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Two to four years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
• Experience in hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service industry is asset.
• Experience handling employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
• Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, labour relations, and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR contact for day-to-day employee labour relations matters within the Ottawa hotel and restaurant operations.
• Provide guidance to managers regarding performance management, attendance, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
• Assist in workplace investigations and resolve employee concerns fairly and timely.
• Provide coaching to managers to enhance leadership and engagement.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, and local recruitment initiatives.
• Support health and safety programs and Joint Health and Safety Committee activities.
• Assist with records, HR reporting, and compliance with policies and legislation.
• Foster positive workplace culture aligned with Gray Collection's values.
