Job summary

Caivan Development Corporation in Ottawa is seeking a knowledgeable HR Generalist to provide hands-on, full-spectrum HR support across employee relations, onboarding, immigration, WSIB, and HR reporting. You will collaborate with the Manager, Human Resources to ensure compliance and a positive employee experience.

This role requires 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, Ontario standards knowledge, and CPHR designation or progress toward it.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an HR generalist or coordinator role.
• Solid understanding of Ontario employment standards, employment law, and HR best practices.
• CPHR designation, or actively working towards one.
• Experience administering an HRIS, with proficiency in HR technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support employee relations matters, including documentation of coaching conversations and progressive discipline, and assist with investigations.
• Maintain and administer the HR App/HRIS: user profiles, data integrity, workflows, reporting.
• Administer onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, including employment letters and exit interviews.
• Administer immigration-related processes and portal administration.
• Own and maintain HR policies and employee handbook in line with standards.
• Manage WSIB claims and injury reports from intake to closure.
• Collaborate on return-to-work programs with Health and Safety and site management.
• Maintain confidential injury/incident records and sensitive information control.
• Support performance review cycles with HR app administration and reminders.
• Maintain HR metrics and provide updates on trends and KPIs.
• Act as a point of contact for general employee inquiries and escalate when needed.
• Support ad hoc HR projects, policy rollouts, and engagement initiatives.
