Job summary

TLC Laser Eye Centre in Calgary is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician (Optician or science graduate) to join our team and help deliver exceptional eye care.

You will perform preoperative and postoperative measurements, review imaging maps, and stay informed about procedures and technologies available in our clinic while providing outstanding patient service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field.
• Completion of an Opticianry program (license not required).
• Certification as COT or COMT is preferred.
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft 365; EMR systems knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete preoperative and postoperative measurements with clear patient explanations.
• Review imaging maps to validate accuracy.
• Be knowledgeable about clinic procedures and available technologies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

Your tasks at a glance

• You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
• You review imaging maps to validate their accuracy.
• You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
• You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You are motivated to learn how to use various diagnostic and testing tools.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
• Schedule: You have flexible work availability from Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sundays.
• Required: You can travel between our LASIK MD, TLC & Gimbel Eye Centre clinics in Calgary for work.
