Job summary

Vision Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician (Optician or Science Graduate) to perform precise preoperative and postoperative measurements and to support patient care in a LASIK MD clinic.

The role involves reviewing imaging maps, understanding clinic procedures, and maintaining high standards of patient service, with travel to other clinics for training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field; Opticianry training preferred.
• Certification as COT or COMT is advantageous and demonstrates clinical proficiency.
• Proficiency with EMR and Microsoft 365 is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative measurements with clear patient explanations.
• Review imaging maps to validate accuracy.
• Be knowledgeable about clinic procedures and technologies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and patient care.

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN (OPTICIAN OR SCIENCE GRADUATE)

The wage range for this role is between $28.30 - $33.96/hr.

Your tasks at a glance

• You complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
• You review imaging maps to validatetheir accuracy.
• You are knowledgeable about procedures and technologies available in the clinic.
• You provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
• You support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management, to assist in the organization’s overall efforts to identify, report, and mitigate risks.

A clear view of your assets

• You are a graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc), an Opticianry program (license not required), a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).
• You are comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
• You are motivated tolearn how to use various diagnostic and testingtools.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• Your experience in an eye-care environment is an asset.
• Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m .
• Required: You are comfortable traveling to other clinics for training (and/or) work (expenses covered by Vision Group).
