Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Millwright for our Detour Lake Mine. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing process equipment, executing work orders, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.

Key duties include commissioning support, piping repairs, and operating mobile equipment. Candidates should bring industrial/mining experience, safety commitment, and remote-site exposure. Detour Lake offers on-site accommodations and transport support.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ related experience in an industrial/mining setting.
• Welder certification and ability to interpret blueprints considered an asset.
• Experience with computer-based maintenance systems, specifically JDE, and with SAG/Ball mills.
• Commitment to safe working practices.
• Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete specific work orders with detail for co-workers to acknowledge completion.
• Provide mechanical expertise and analytical troubleshooting for equipment issues.
• Complete process plant piping repairs.
• Safely operate mobile equipment including small cranes, man lifts, and forklifts.
• Assist in commissioning of new installations and modifications.
• Analyze maintenance procedures and suggest improvements.
• Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Report safety issues to supervisor and ensure remediation.
• Promote safety culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

• Complete specific work orders, providing sufficient detail for co-workers to acknowledge work completion and/or equipment issues;
• Provide mechanical expertise and apply advanced analytical and trouble shooting skills to assist operations, maintenance and technical personnel in identifying and solving day to day equipment problems;
• Complete process plant piping repairs;
• Safely operate specific units of mobile equipment including small mobile cranes, man lifts and forklifts;
• Assist in the commissioning of new installations and modifications;
• Analyze maintenance procedures and make recommendations to improve effectiveness;
• Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities;
• Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied;
• Participate in activities that contribute to the overall achievement of ‘World Class’ safety performance where safety is owned and embraced by everyone;
• Promote positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• 5 years’ related experience in an industrial/mining setting;
• Additional certification as a welder with the ability to interpret blueprints is an asset;
• Experience in computer-based maintenance system, specifically JDE and experience with SAG/Ball mills, cone and gyratory crushers is an asset;
• Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices;
• Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
