Job summary

GardaWorld Cash Services in Halifax, NS is seeking an Operations Supervisor (Nights) to lead unionized staff, ensure policy compliance, and support security operations across the cash services unit.

You will oversee scheduling, safety audits, budget monitoring, and coordination with internal/external stakeholders. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with 6 or less demerits.
• Possession of a valid Non-Restricted and Restricted Firearms License (PAL).
• Very good leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills.
• Strong focus on teamwork and partnership.
• Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Critical thinking and active listening developed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees.
• Ensure staff comply with policies, admin procedures, safety rules, collective agreements and government regulations.
• Act as a resource person for all employees in the assigned territory.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives.
• Promote safe work practices, by conducting safety audits, participating in safety meetings, and meeting one-on-one with staff.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets.
• Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
• Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders to determine causes of accidents and improve safety procedures.
• Fill-in on Armored and/or ATM routes when needed
• Participate in the disciplinary process or settlement of grievances.
• All other related tasks.
