Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Calgary, AB to lead and manage unionized staff in the Cash Services unit. You will ensure compliance with policies, safety rules, and collective agreements while guiding team performance and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment, strong leadership and communication skills, and a focus on safety, teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with 6 or less demerits.
• Possession of a valid PAL (Firearms License).
• Very good leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills.
• Strong focus on teamwork and partnership.
• Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
• Critical thinking and active listening developed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees.
• Ensure staff comply with policies, safety rules and agreements.
• Act as a resource person for employees in the territory.
• Collaborate with supervisors to implement policies and objectives.
• Promote safe work practices and conduct safety audits.
• Monitor expenditures to align with budgets.
• Investigate complaints and coordinate with stakeholders to improve safety.
• Fill-in on armored/ATM routes when needed.
• Participate in disciplinary processes and grievance settlements.
• All other related tasks.

What you will be doing:

• Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees;
• Ensure that staff members comply with policies, administrative procedures, safety rules, collective agreements and government regulations;
• Act as a resource person for all employees in the assigned territory;
• Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives;
• Promote safe work practices, by conducting safety audits, participating in company safety meetings, and meeting one-on-one with staff members;
• Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets;
• Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints;
• Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders to determine the causes of accidents that occur during transport and improve safety procedures;
• Fill-in on Armored and/or ATM routes when needed
• Participate in the disciplinary process or the settlement of grievances;
• All other related tasks.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment;
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook;
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with 6 or less demerits
• Possession of a valid Non-Restricted and Restricted Firearms License (PAL: Possession & Acquisitions License)
• Very good leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills;
• Strong focus on teamwork and partnership;
• Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
